An Update for the I/ITSEC Community (This is a message of information to attendees/registrants/participants in past I/ITSECs as well as other activities of the National Training and Simulation Association (NTSA) in preparation for I/ITSEC 2014.) If you’re like us, you’re still unpacking from I/ITSEC 2013 and wondering how, in spite of the challenges and turmoil, the year could possibly have gone by so quickly. However, it’s not too early to be prepping for 2014. The website is being updated with 2014 information (this is an arduos process, so give us some time). The staggered process for early exhibit selection has begun and will roll through the next few weeks. The Call for Papers/Tutorials has been issued.
As you return to your computers “post holiday”, you’ll want to keep a few dates and details in mind.
*Paper and Tutorials: Open early this year. In fact, here are the dates for potential authors to keep in mind throughout the year. How about putting them on your calendar now, with two week notifications, so you’ll be prepared?
The full I/ITSEC 2014 Call for Papers/Tutorials is posted at http://www.iitsec.org/AUTHORS/Pages/default.aspx. Need some inspiration? The 2013 Best Papers and Tutorialas are posted at http://www.iitsec.org/about/PublicationsProceedings/Pages/BestPapers.aspx.
*Attendee Registration will be open in May (at the latest).
*Hotel Reservations: http://www.iitsec.org/attendees/planningyourstay/Pages/default.aspx. Please remember that if you are managing a block of rooms please adjust accordingly for numbers, check in and out days. And watch for sneaky too-good-to-be-true deals. Stick with our approved provider, Travel Planners, or a company that you know and trust.
*Exhibits, Sponsorship, Advertizing, and Marketing: Watch http://exhibits.iitsec.org/ for these opportunities.
