The Minister for Defence Industry, the Hon Melissa Price MP has today announced the award to Cirrus Real Time Processing of a new contract to further extend the functionality of the Cirrus Tactical Electronic Warfare (TACEW) system.
Minister Price’s announcement notes that “This contract demonstrates the capability of Australian businesses to continue delivering world-leading defence technology,” and further states, “This investment demonstrates that our industry has the ability to develop and deliver world-leading advanced simulation engineering technology, to increase the Navy’s electronic warfare expertise.”
In welcoming Minister Price’s remarks, Cirrus’ Managing Director Mr. Peter Freed stated : “The Tactical Electronic Warfare system is the outcome of Cirrus’ engineering capability developing our Australian technology and underlying intellectual property. Cirrus is pleased to continue this collaborative engagement with the RAN in further developing TACEW. In addition to generating additional training capability for the RAN, this contract will enable the sovereign industrial capability established within Cirrus’ team for the development of advanced simulation systems to be both maintained and extended for the benefit of the ADF.”
Cirrus is a long time member of Simulation Australasia.
